Introductional workshop to the identification and monitoring of species of common daytime butterflys in Portugal. The regular counting of butterflies carried out by trained volunteers through a citizen science's method used throughout Europe allows to calculate populational tendencies of these insets and to infer about the conservation status of the ecossystems. In this therotical-practical activity we'll get to know the methodologies used and learn to identify the most common species of portuguese butterflies and, who knows, maybe recruit future volunteers!
This activity is led by Tiago Carrapiço and Margarida Rei.
